The Department of Early Education and Care publishes a geographically-searchable online directory of licensed child care programs across the state. If a program you are researching does not appear in your search results, you may call the EEC regional licensing office for your area to confirm whether the program is licensed by EEC. EEC can provide information about restrictions on a license, non-compliance citations, and sanctions.
Family Child Care programs are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). This type of early education and care takes place in the provider's home. Group and School Age Child Care programs provide early education and care for young children in a community-based setting outside the home. Funded Care programs are child care programs that are not required to be licensed by EEC because they are part of a public or private K-12 institution. These programs are subject to EEC monitoring requirements because they serve EEC-subsidized children.
Infant (birth - 15 mo) Toddler (15 mo - 33 mo) Preschool (33 mo - 6 yr) Kindergarten (5 yr or attending 1st grade next year) School Age (5 yr - 14 yr) Note: Family Child Care programs can serve children in any age group and will be included in a search for any specific age.
Please note: Drag the slider or click the surrounding "Less" or "More" buttons to control the proximity of distance you would like to find a provider along your highlighted route.
Please note that the search results will default to alphabetical order. EEC does not recommend child care programs, but instead provides this page as a resource for families and members of the public to assist in finding information about licensed child care programs in Massachusetts.
